MARIJUANA COALITION, THE DEEP STATE AND ROGER STONE
ROGER STONE TO FEDS - BUTT OUT ON MARIJUANA
Roger Stone insists Trump back legal marijuana - Blasts Sessions for Outmoded Thinking
Transcript of Roger Stone, a keynote speaker at the Cannabis Expo New York - 2017
"I don’t want the government telling me what I can smoke, what I can eat, who I can marry. "
Some of you may be surprised that you have a conservative Republican speaking at a campus exposition but from my point of view of course the essence of old fashioned, Barry Goldwater style conservatism.
Barry Morris Goldwater was an American politician and businessman who served five-terms as United States Senator and was the Republican Party's nominee for President of the United States in 1964. Despite losing the election, Goldwater is the politician most often credited for the resurgence of the American conservative political movement in the 1960s. Goldwater also had an incredible impact on the libertarian movement.
ROGER STONE ON BIG BROTHER
To me, when the government tells you how to live, when the government tells you what you can ingest and what you can do in your own bedroom, well that’s the essence of big government imperialism, and that’s what I oppose.
OUR GOVERNMENT IS LOOKING FOR TROUBLE - BAD
Frankly, I went through a period in which I despite a long term sentimental attachment to the old Republican Party of Barry Goldwater, a Republican Party that to me stood for small government, privacy, peace through strength, as opposed to a neocon vision of going around the world looking for trouble.
A party of minimal taxation, a party of minimal regulation, a party that stayed out of the bedroom and out of the boardroom and on the nomination of Mitt Romney.
THE PARTY OF WALL STREET AND ENDLESS WAR - AS ORWELL PREDICTED
I begin to believe that, that party had been co-opted, that party no longer existed. That in fact, that party had worked into an identical version of the other party and that sadly, both parties had become a Party of Wall Street, and the party of K-Street and the party of special interest - the party of endless war and the parties of erosions of our civil liberties and massive debt and spending premiums. The Government ships jobs out of the country.
DONALD TRUMP IS FOR BUSINESS - NOT WAR
Now it’s got to be mentioned, with the nomination and election of Donald Trump, this is a hostile takeover of the Republican Party, by a new populist, strength in this case of (real) Republicanism.
STONE GOES BACK TO NIXON AS ADVISOR - KNOWS WHAT HE'S TALKING ABOUT
For those of you who don’t know, I have been active in this movement for almost 30 years. I was marching with Reverend Al Sharpton and with Russell Simmons and with Andrew Cuomo and with Tom Golisano against New York State's Draconian, racist drug laws 15 years ago and therefore I am proud to be one of you. I am proud to be an advocate and yes, I was among those people who advised then-candidate Trump to take the forthright position that he took which is to say that he would support state rights, that he would honor state rights in the 29 states that have legalized some form of cannabis.
"Alfred Charles Sharpton Jr. is an American civil rights activist, Baptist minister, television/radio talk show host and a former White House adviser who, according to 60 Minutes, became President Barack Obama's go-to black leader."
"Russell Wendell Simmons is an American entrepreneur, producer and author. The Chairman and CEO of Rush Communications, he cofounded the hip-hop music label Def Jam Recordings and created the clothing fashion lines Phat Farm, Argyleculture, and Tantris. Simmons had a net-worth estimate of $340 million in 2011."
"Andrew Mark Cuomo is an American politician, author, and attorney who has been the 56th Governor of New York since January 1, 2011. A member of the Democratic Party, he was elected in 2010, holding the same position his father, Mario Cuomo, held for three terms from 1983 to 1995."
"Blaise Thomas "Tom" Golisano is an American businessman and philanthropist. He is the founder of Paychex, which offers payroll and human resources services to businesses, and former co-owner of the Buffalo Sabres hockey team and of the Buffalo Bandits lacrosse team."
HOW TRUMP WON THE ELECTION
I think that announcement was a key factor in his election, the key factor leading to victory was a slightly greater percentage of younger voters, a slightly greater percentage of African- American voters.
JEFF SESSIONS BULLSHIT ACTIONS
Now, incredibly Attorney General Jeff Sessions and the Homeland Security Secretary John Kelly are talking about a crackdown on legal cannabis, they’re talking about undoing the famous Holder Memo in which the Obama administration did something that I strongly agree, with which It was to essentially stand down on the enforcement of federal laws pertaining to possession and distribution in the 29 states where cannabis is legal, in some form.
OBAMA DIDN'T DO MUCH RIGHT - BUT HE DID ONE THING RIGHT
That (leaving the States to deal with their own marijuana issues) was good public policy. But now, the Attorney General talks about a crackdown, a perfect story we saw the other day; the Attorney General went to Congress to ask for approval for such a crackdown. And then I saw an interview, perhaps three weeks ago, in which the Homeland Security Secretary Mr. Kelly said and I quote;
“Marijuana is a gateway drug” What planet is this guy live on?
By definition if everyone who uses marijuana who done much harder drugs we would have millions (a hundred million actually, according to Sessions "logic") of heroin addicts today, but where are they? This idea was discredited 20 years ago, yet you still see members of the administration spouting and towards that end.
STONE TO WORK WITH EVERYBODY THAT WANTS TO GO GET 'EM
I am going to be working with a coalition of Republicans and Democrats, Progressives, and Libertarians, Liberals and Conservatives, to persuade the President to keep his pledge. To remind the President and to remind the voters that the President took a strong and forthright position on this issue in the election, and in all honesty, it’s time for him to tell Attorney General Jeff Sessions to cut the shit!
CUT THE SHIT SESSIONS - YOU'VE BEEN TOLD
Editor's note: Sessions risks going down in the history books, not as honorable public servant in a family of notable politicians and leaders, but as a shill of limited intellect. Sad.
I have elected to join with others including, John Morgan a prominent advocate and Democratic Party activist in Florida, Judge Andrew Napolitano and my good friend Governor Jesse Ventura, Tyler Nixon, who is a great nephew of President Richard M. Nixon, who gave us the War on Drugs, perhaps the most egregious mistake of his administration, second to only perhaps to closing the gold window and others in a bipartisan coalition that will have several purposes.
Editor's note: According to Sessions, good people don't smoke marijuana. By definition all the big names that are hanging with Stone are defined to be not good people. Sad.
Number One: to urge the President (Trump), as I said to keep his pledge. Secondarily, President Trump could do what President Obama should have done on his way out the door and didn’t; change the schedule of marijuana from Schedule 1, so the doctors across the country can prescribe it for people who need it and who it can help.
While we’re at it, the federal bank regulators could lay off on the banks who want to do business with a legitimate industry, that is legalized and paying massive taxes in the states and while we’re at it, I’d like to remind the administration of hundreds of millions of dollars in revenue that this industry, this legal industry is generating.
You reinforce federal laws against marijuana, and you bankrupt the state of Colorado and the state of California and a handful of other states, and you bankrupt the counties. Government are earning and counting on they were in budgeted this funds for what is a perfectly legal and heavily regulated industry.
MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN - GET OFF MARIJUANA'S BACK
So if you’re interested in making America great again, if you’re interested in a robust and vibrant economy, if you’re interested in greater revenues to help solve public policy problems, if you are interested in creating jobs well then you should be supporting the legal cannabis industry across the country.
MOBILIZE THE MASSES - THERE WILL BE TENS OF MILLIONS
It’s our intention to identify, reach and mobilize millions of propitious voters to remind the president respectfully of his pledge and to urge him to keep it. Attorney General Jeff Sessions said and I quote, “good people don’t use marijuana.” No, Mr. Attorney General, sick people use marijuana, millions of them and withholding medicine, withholding a prophylactic that helps people, its bad public policy.
NEW STRAIN - TRICKY DICK - PERFECT
Now I would also have to tell you that I’ve been such a long term supporter of cannabis rights, that I’m getting into the business myself and with partners, I am forming a new strain of marijuana. We’re doing this with all of our California State with permits in Yorba Linda, California and the name of the strain is Tricky Dick.
"Smoke this weed and you become a anxious Chinaman." - via Sessions Logistics
Now some people say, when you smoke this you become paranoid and you want to go to a Chinese restaurant…that’s actually not true. We hope to have our first harvest this October. We do not yet have a distributor, so anybody who would have an interest can come see me or one of my associates.
This demonstrates two things, one despite of my longtime association, and yes, my affectionate reference to a President who reached the nuclear arms limitation agreement with the Russians, open the door to China, he segregated the public schools, he segregated the trade unions, saved Israel in the 1973, created the EPA,and more.
STONE TOLD NIXON - YOUR WAR ON DRUGS WAS A FAILURE - HE AGREED?
But his latest mistake, as I said by our 37th President was the War on Drugs, so there is some irony. I can tell you that at the end of his life when I spent a substantial amount of private time with Nixon and when I was able to show him the raw statistics on incarceration and a number of other byproducts of the ignominious, expensive, racist failed War on Drugs by the time of his death, I think the President acknowledged that the War on Drugs was a failure.
Now we have a bunch of drug warriors like Jeff Sessions, like John Kelly, like Chris Christie - who would like to be the drug czar, god forbid - they would like to reignite the war on drugs.
Editor's note: As time goes by, we see that Washington politicians are simply in a different reality frame, one which does not include current trends, it's a world upon itself, a ship set sale to a fictitious land where the money flows into their hands via unnatural processes. They're like the platypus, an animal that thrives in a niche environment, but has no practical ability to survive anywhere else.
CRIME AGAINST HUMANITY - JAIL AS A BUSINESS - WEED LAWS = MORE CLIENTS
We already incarcerated more people than any country in the world, we are rehabilitating no one. We are, we created a cottage industry in prisons which employ all of these political cronies shall we say. The taxpayers flip the bill if anybody does get out they come out a hardened criminal with no opportunity for employment for a future. Its time to realize that drug abuse is a public health issue, not a criminal issue.
"Excluding China, America incarcerates almost more people than all other countries combined. Very Sad."
So, in addition to urging the President to honor his pledge to support cannabis in the 29 states, where it is legal. In addition to urging him to change the Schedule in terms of the position in Schedule 1, so the doctors can prescribe cannabis, we’re also going to urge the Trump Administration to support additional federal funding and adequate levels for unbiased scientific research.
ISRAEL GOVERNMENT ALREADY ON TOP OF SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH
Scientific research into the medicinal benefits and properties of cannabis, and I think most will not be well funded and large enough. Studies in Israel have already indicated incredible potential medical breakthroughs. It’s time for us in the United States to have our own intensive studies and research to explore the incredible properties of this plan and lastly, and perhaps this is the most important.
In the event that we are unable to persuade the President to honor his pledge and having known him 40 years I can tell you several things you can find this on public records he himself is skeptical about the war on drugs, he himself endorsed medical marijuana in the last election and he said that’s what the people chose, and many of these states that have legalized.
As you know that’s not an easy process, some places need 60% of the vote or more you see the process of legalization is controlled by Republicans and Democrats working together who like the status quo and therefore enormous credit must go to people like John Morgan, Kerry, who had to try twice.
But marijuana is legal in Florida today for medicinal purposes because of the courage of one man, because of the fortitude of one man and that is my friend John Morgan, and therefore there are John Morgan’s in every state individuals men and women who have stepped forward to lead this fight and my hat is off to you.
But what happens, if we are unable to persuade the President to honor his pledge? What if we are unable to persuade the President that the support of legal cannabis in 29 states is not only good public policy, it's also good politics, well then it’s incumbent on us to build the coalition.
"Perhaps 10% of the population, that opposes Trump in particular thinks that by poisoning the town's water supply, they are somehow winning. Society failed them long ago, or they failed society, and that blind hatred fuels nonsensical political action hell bent on self destruction more than anything."
COALITION OF DEMS REPS & LIBS
A coalition of Liberal Democrats and Libertarian-minded Republicans in the U.S. House and Senate for the purposes of legalizing cannabis once and for all, we have the votes. The dirty little secret is we probably have the votes in the lower body today; the votes probably exist in the house for a well crafted legalization bill. The votes in the Senate would be tougher, but not impossible.
So in my view, this is the fallback, this is the next stage of the fight. I intend to do everything I possibly can to persuade the President to keep his commitment to the millions of people who use cannabis for medical purposes and to those who are relying on state laws for legalization of cannabis and I have no illusions that there is a faction of the Republican Party that will oppose us, there is a faction of the Democratic Party that will oppose us.
By the way, I’ve looked, I can’t find Hillary Clinton ever coming out for the legalization of cannabis, and this astounds me (not us!). I salute Bernie Sanders because he had the courage to say it. I salute Gov. Gary Johnson and the nominee of the Libertarian Party and Dr. Jill Stein the nominee of the Green Party; they had the courage to say it.
Editor's note: Stone know's the Clinton's were bought and paid for. Marijuana did not buy the Clintons. So we don't know what he's shocked about.
Donald Trump had the courage to stand up for legal marijuana on a States’ rights basis to honor the decisions of the people in those states. Where was Hillary? Neither party has stepped forward on what is an important issue that, well sadly, that’s just disappointing. But, if it becomes necessary for us to legalize this in the Congress and urge the President to support it, we will be prepared to do that.
Now let me say lastly, and I’m happy to take some questions, this has to be a bi-partisan movement. I recognize that I have political disagreements with many in the crowd on other issues. We can disagree about anything you like: immigration, trade, war. That’s fine… you don’t have to be disagreeable, if you disagree and more importantly, I think we can find common cause around this issue. No one Party, no one ideology has all the answers. Only by working together with people with whom you have fundamental disagreement - on other issues can we be successful.
US CANNABIS COALITION & THE AMAZING NORML
I have agreed to work with the United States Cannabis Coalition, which I indicate is a non-profit with an extremely narrow focus. There are many fine co-cannabis organization and marijuana projects, NORML (fantastic) who have a broader agenda, and I salute them, and I support them and I admire them.
AFTER THE BULLSHIT - FACTS ARE ON MARIJUANA'S SIDE
Our focus is more narrow; to persuade the President to keep his pledge, move marijuana from Schedule 1, and get us more federal research, and if we have to go to the congress. I am very optimistic, because the facts are on our side and the states that have legalized cannabis I don’t need to tell you opioid addiction is down, opioid deaths are down, pain crime is down, all forms of small crimes are down the exact opposite of what they told us would happen. Therefore, once again it points out why this is good public policy for the Trump administration.
We finish up by saying, quite simply, we need to honor the state rights on the question of legal marijuana ironing the decisions of 29 states, that have legalized cannabis, is in my opinion, a key point in making America Great Again.
MMDoctorOnline Notes: To buy marijuana of any kind in California, all adults require a medical doctor's recommendation. In 2018, all adults may purchase marijuana for any reason, medical or not, but so called recreational users will be subject to a tax of up to 35% depending on the county.
Your Medical Cannabis ID Card is valid for one year and may be renewed quickly online. The process to acquire Cannabis ID, a licensed physician's 420 evaluation, or cultivation permit takes only a few minutes and your file is normally processed the same day. Our documents are used at licensed dispensaries, delivery services, cooperatives, cannabis clubs, clinics and compassion clube in California.
"The tax on only one ounce of recreational marijuana could easily be $80, which is more than the cost to become a legal medical marijuana user."
