THE DIFFERENT KINDS OF CANNABIS OILS
CANNABIS ESSENTIAL OILS & CANNABIS OIL - WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE?
Cannabis essential oil are the lighter and volatile oils that give cannabis its scent. The essential oils are extracted from cannabis flowers. The extracted essential oils typically contain little of the heavier oils and cannabinoids such as THC and CBD. However, in whole plant extracts, the essential oils may be added to the heavier fraction which includes the fatty acids and cannabinoids, to produce perhaps the best all round cannabis product of all.
Cannabis Essential Oil can be used in aromatherapy, taken sublingually, transdermally or by vape. It has a wide scope of applications applicable to a myriad of illnesses and conditions. As mentioned previously, cannabis essential oil differs from cannabis oil in that it contains lighter, fragrant terpenes. Cannabis essential oil is an especially unusual in that it contains dozens or medicinal compounds. More than 200 different compounds have been identified in its essential and heavy oils.
Through selective breeding, growers have manipulated and multiplied the concentration of various ingredients to produce plants with high CBD or THC or a skunky smell and so on. The process of selective breeding, and sourcing the world for landraces -wild cannabis plants - with many differing qualities has led to the availability of a great variety of cannabis essential oils.
Conditions and symptoms treatable with Cannabis Essential Oil include: Anxiety & Stress, Sleep, Appetite, Pain, Cancer, Heart, Skin Care, Glaucoma, Headaches, and more.
TYPES OF CANNABIS OILS - SUMMARY
HEMP OIL - Contains cannabinoids, such as CBD, but very little THC, fatty acids and terpenes. Hemp oil cannot get you high.

ABOUT CANNABIS ESSENTIAL OILS
Cannabis essential oil is commonly extracted using steam distillation. The extracted Cannabis essential oil is a green viscous liquid that contains terpenes with lesser amounts of flavonoids, phenols, alkaloids, glycosides and fatty acids, with concentrations varying on the extraction method and the type of marijuana flower used. Cannabinoids, the heavier oils and resin may be added to the essential oil to produce a whole plant oil extract.
See the further reading section for a very thorough study of cannabis essential oil. The concentration of the various ingredients vary widely between strains and species. Hemp, as said previously, contains no psychoactive d9THC, nor any terpenes, like the ones that give some kinds of marijuana's a skunky smell.
HEMP OIL AND HEMP SEED OIL
Hemp flowers can contain an abundance of d8THC and CBD, neither of which is psychoactive to any great degree but both have useful medicinal properties.
The oils derived from the any marijuana or hemp seed is entirely different from that of the flower. There are no significant quantity of cannabinoids - no THC, no CBD or others, but there is an abundance of essential fatty acids, and significant quantities of terpenes and plant sterols.
Apart from its multitude of medical applications, cannabis essential oil is used in perfumes, soaps, and candles, as well as in culinary preparations. Cannabis essential oil is very potent and small amounts -10mg- can be added to good effect.
Cannabis Essential Oil - Health Benefits
Given that the individual ingredients of Cannabis essential oil have been shown clinically to be especially good for the skin, it is extremely underutilized in aroma therapy, transdermal and cosmetic applications. In cream form it can be delivered directly to the skin, which also makes delivers a therapeutic dose into both the bloodstream and lymph system.
The powerful components of cannabis essential oil can be used to protect and improve skin health. Essential cannabis oil can stimulate the shedding of dead skin for faster re-growth which promotes a glowing healthy look. It is also helps prevent wrinkles and signs of aging, while also protecting against eczema and psoriasis.
Anxiety & Stress

Once eating resumes, then healing can resume.
Cannabis Essential Oil is a great painkiller. It is much safer than addictive opiates, and can be substituted for use in: inflammation, chronic pain, and emergency pain relief. Cannabis contains both CBD and THC have become very popular among mixed martial artists who know all about pain relief, and also about the dangers of opiates, which interfere with their training. The word is out, opiate addiction can ruin your MMA career.
Although there is still some controversy in medical circles, ,there are a wealth of peer reviewed clinical studies that show that cannabis ingredients THC and CBD halt and kill cancer by inducing "natural" cellular suicide. Cannabis Essential Oil can have preventative effects on cancer and has been shown to reduce tumor size, thereby making other therapies more effective in defeating cancer.
The volatile components in Cannabis Essential Oil helps to improve the cardiovascular system by dilating blood vessels and keeping so called bad oils from depositing and coagulating. It is also a strong antioxidant as well, which helps scrape off an excess of cholesterol to assist in the restoration of your cardiovascular system.
Cannabis Essential Oil and especially Cannabis Oil has been used for a long time to treat elevated fluid pressure in the eyeball, which makes it an effective treatment of glaucoma and in the prevention of macular degeneration. Though some traditional doctors have been hesitant to deal in medical marijuana, for some reason, many of them think it might be good for glaucoma. Studies indicate that positive results are dose dependent, meaning that there is an optimal dose and that more is not necessarily better.
Applying Cannabis Essential Oil or Cannabis Oil on the temples or the focal area of pain of intensity can reduce migraine quickly without any psychological effects. This type of marijuana use is strangely under utilized, strange because it is so easy and perhaps "obvious". More commonly, the essential oil is vaped. Realize that the terpenes, the fragrant portion is a dilator and opens up the bronchial tubes in the lungs, which improves respiration. The cannabinoids that go into the bloodstream are pain killers and muscle relaxants. An imbalance of electrolytes also accompanies migraine, and this is alleviated in no small part by simply drinking pickle juice.
Taking too much at first can cause a number of undesirable side effects, dizziness, couch lock, dry mouth, anxiety and a racing heart. Despite these potential side effects, marijuana oils are very safe to use and side effects soon wear off without any permanent damage. Oral doses last about 1-2 hours while oral and edible intake can take about 8 to 12 hours.
Everyone should search out the minimal effective dose and try different routes of administration. Starting small, -perhaps 10 mg- and moving up is the recommended approach. The body adapts to cannabis oil in two or three weeks, where it becomes more effective and the dose requirement can be adjusted upward until the best results are achieved.
Speak to a professional about mixing Cannabis Essential Oils and present medications before adding any new elements to your health regimen. Also, use of cannabis is restricted/banned in many countries, so consult a local health specialist before use.
How is Cannabis Essential Oil Extracted?
There are several ways to extract Cannabis Essential Oil. Solvents are most commonly used, where the ground cannabis flower is immersed and the components - oils, cannabinoids, terpenes and other substances go into solution. Then the mixture is evaporated, and then the solvent is separated from the essential oil via evaporation.
Lower temperature evaporation techniques are preferred so that the lighter fragrant terpenes are not lost. When purchasing marijuana essential oil, look on the certificate of analysis and see that there are percent levels of terpenes in it. Also, if you take a sniff, good essential oils are very pungent, while lower quality oils do not smell so much because most of the terpenes have been lost during the extraction process.

Is Hemp Oil the same as Cannabis Essential Oil?
No, As mentioned previously, hemp oil is not the same as cannabis essential oil. Hemp oil is obtained by cold pressing of hemp seeds, whereas Cannabis Essential Oil is obtained by separating the resins - heavy oils and tar like ingredients- from cannabis flowers. The properties, use and efficacy between these two substances are quite different.
Cannabis Oil is generally very high in d9THC content, which makes it very psychoactive, whereas hemp oil has almost no THC, but can have higher concentrations of the non-psychoactive CBD - cannabidiol. CBD oil contains mostly just CBD with minor values of THC and other ingredients.
How much Cannabis Essential Oil is used in Cancer?
There are several protocols for cancer. Almost all protocols involve megadoses, that is to take 1000 mg or more is taken daily. One popular protocol is to gradually up the dose from 100mg to 300-500 mg per day over a three month period. Many patients report that this protocol has cured them of cancer completely. Some patients reported that they into remission or the tumor size was reduced in size.

The Cannabis plant consist of an enormous variety of chemicals, perhaps the most variety of any species in the plant kingdom.
- 483 compounds identified are unique to Cannabis
- 60 cannabinoids
- 140 terpenes
"Terpenes are a group of C21 terpenophenolic compounds found unique to Cannabis sativa L."
Terpenes are Isoprene units -C5H8 form monoterpenoids -C10 skeleton, sesquiterpenoids -C15,diterpenoids -C20, and triterpenoids -C30. Terpenoids may be acyclic, monocyclic, or polycyclic hydrocarbons with substitution, including alcohols, ethers, aldehydes, ketones, and esters.
The essential oil -volatile oil- is easily obtained by steam distillation or vaporization. The yield depends on the marijuana type -drug, fiber- and pollination; sex, age, and part of the plant; cultivation -indoor, outdoor etc.-; harvest time and conditions; drying; and storage -29–31-. For example, fresh buds from an Afghani variety yielded 0.29 percent essential oil -32-. Drying and storage reduced the content from 0.29 after 1 week and 3 months to 0.20 and 0.13 percent, respectively -32-. Monoterpenes showed a significantly greater loss than sesquiterpenes, but none of the major components completely disappeared in the drying process.
About 1.3 L of essential oil per ton resulted from freshly harvested outdoor-grown Cannabis, corresponding to about 10 L/ha -29. The yield of non pollinated -“sinsemilla”- marijuana at 18 L/ha was more than twofold compared with pollinated marijuana-8 L/ha- -30. Sixty-eight components were detected by GC and GC/mass spectrometry -MS- in fresh bud oil distilled from high-potency, indoor-grown Cannabis
The 57 identified constituents were 92 percent monoterpenes, 7 percent sesquiterpenes, and approx 1 percent other compounds -ketones, esters; refs. 9 and 32. The dominating monoterpenes were myrcene -67 percent- and limonene -16 percent-. In the essential oil from outdoor-grown Cannabis, the monoterpene concentration varied between 47.9 and 92.1 percent of the total terpenoid content.
The sesquiterpenes ranged from 5.2 to 48.6 percent . The most abundant monoterpene was E-myrcene, followed by trans-caryophyllene, D-pinene, trans-ocimene, and D-terpinolene. “Drug-type” marijuana generally contained less caryophyllene oxide than “fiber-type” Cannabis. Even in “drug-type” Cannabis, the THC content of the essential oil was not more than 0.08 percent In the essential oil of five different European marijuana cultivars, the dominating terpenes were myrcene -21.1–35.0 percent-, D-pinene -7.2–14.6 percent-, D-terpinolene.
The main differences between the cultivars were found in the contents of D-terpinolene and D-pinene. Other terpenoids present only in traces are sabinene, D-terpinene, 1,8-cineole -eucalyptol-, pulegone, J-terpinene, terpineol-4-ol, bornyl acetate, D-copaene,
alloaromadendrene, viridiflorol, E-bisabolene, J-cadinene, trans-E-farnesene, trans nerolidol, and E-bisabolol.
